Kevin Maloney is a Director at Goforth Trade Advisors where he advises clients on all aspects of export controls. Kevin is a leader
and manager with a thorough knowledge and understanding of U.S. export
control laws, policies and regulations.
Prior to joining Goforth Trade Advisors, Kevin
served as the Director for the Office of Defense Trade Controls
Licensing at the U.S. Department of State. As Director, he was
responsible for all actions related to the receipt, staffing,
adjudication, and final U.S. government decision on export licenses and
other requests related to the direct commercial sales exports of defense
articles from the United States pursuant to the Arms Export Control Act. He played an
important role as an integral member of the team in the planning and
execution of the Export Control Reform initiative.
Kevin coordinated the outreach programs of the Directorate of Defense
Trade Controls (DDTC) to support the education and compliance of the
exporting community with U.S. law and regulation. Before joining DDTC,
Kevin was the Munitions Division Chief for the Defense Technology
Security Administration at the Department of Defense. There he provided
leadership, management and supervision for 20 senior civilian and active
duty military export control analysts of the Licensing Munitions
Division. Kevin is also a retired U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer.
